I’ve always thought that Janelle Monáe was stunning in the looks department so it comes as no surprise to me that COVERGIRL just announced that she’s their newest addition to the COVERGIRL family… I’m so excited to see what they come up with for her!
Miss Monáe who’s usually known for her natural hair updo’s and tuxedo is stepping into a new arena, and I truly think it’s going to be awesome!!! it’s always good to see cosmetic companies add “real” brown skin beauties to their team.
During a recent interview Janelle told Vogue.com that she always had beauty aspirations.
“Growing up and trying to find myself as a woman and experimenting with makeup, I’d go buy magazines,” she said. “I’d see Tyra Banks [in the CoverGirl ads] and I’d think, Wow, she’s beautiful. It never looked like she had on too much makeup. There was just something clean and classic about her face.”
I can’t wait to see Miss Monáe’s campaign which will debut in a 10-page advertisement in the upcoming September issue of Vogue.
Seems to me COVERGIRL is stepping their game up… last week, they announced that rocker Pink would join it’s list of famous faces, which also includes Sofia Vergara, Ellen DeGeneres and Taylor Swift.
I can’t wait to see who’s next to join the COVERGIRL Family…..
